Dr. Robert C. Erickson II

Robert C. Erickson II, MD is a Board Certified Orthopaedic and Board Certified Arthroscopic Surgeon with extensive experience in sports medicine, foot and ankle surgery, and small system dynamics. Dr. Erickson earned his Medical Degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School. He completed an internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and his orthopaedic residency at Vanderbilt University. He completed a fellowship in kinesiology at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. He is a Veteran of and former orthopedic surgeon for the United States Air Force.

While earning his degrees, Dr. Erickson was recognized with several academic and sports honors and awards. He was a member of the Dean’s List and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harding University where he received his undergraduate education. Dr. Erickson was awarded the Lange Award for achieving the second position in his class after the first year of medical school and the Roche Award for achieving the first position in his class after the second year of medical school. He attained 95-99 percentile ranking from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon’s In-Training Examination. Additionally, he was a member of the Vanderbilt University Appellate Review Board and received the Physician’s Recognition Award from the American Medical Association. In sports, Dr. Erickson was awarded a Varsity Letter for cross-country running, the Arkansas Scholar Athlete Award, and the Presidential Sports Award for running and taekwondo.

Dr. Erickson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Professional Disability Consultants. He is a Fellow of the American Back Society. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Board of North America, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Neurological and Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Stark County Medical Society. Dr. Erickson is a member of over 30 Medical Honor Societies.

Dr. Erickson is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine. His research is published in numerous peer reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Erickson represented the United States as an Orthopaedic Surgeon Delegate to the Soviet Union. He represented the Ohio Taekwondo Association at the XXVth Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. He was a team physician for the United States Taekwondo Team at the World Taekwondo Championships. Additionally, Dr. Erickson was a Volunteer Physician with the United States Olympic Committee Volunteer Sports Medicine Program. Dr. Erickson is a community volunteer, as well, and is on the Board of Counselors for the YMCA and a team physician for local high schools.

Dr. Erickson enjoys spending time with his family and children. He is an avid runner and participates in the martial arts.
